Primary Teacher 

Location: Leeds, LS26
Salary: £140–£175 per day, dependent on experience
Start Date: September 2026
Contract Type: Full-Time / Flexible / Supply

GSL Education is currently seeking enthusiastic and dedicated Primary Teachers to work across welcoming and supportive schools in Leeds, LS26. This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate teacher looking for a new role, flexible supply work or the opportunity to make a positive impact on pupils' learning and development.

As a Primary Teacher, you will be responsible for planning and delivering engaging lessons, creating a positive classroom environment and supporting pupils throughout their educational journey. You will work with pupils across the primary age range and help them develop academically, socially and emotionally.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging and effective lessons in line with the National Curriculum.
  • Teach and support pupils across different primary year groups.
  • Create a positive, inclusive and stimulating classroom environment.
  • Adapt lessons and learning activities to meet the needs of individual pupils.
  • Use a range of teaching strategies to engage pupils and encourage active learning.
  • Monitor, assess and record pupil progress where required.
  • Provide appropriate support and challenge to pupils of different abilities.
  • Promote positive behaviour and maintain effective classroom management.
  • Support pupils' social, emotional and academic development.
  • Build positive and professional relationships with pupils, parents and colleagues.
  • Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, SENCOs and other school staff.
  • Follow school policies and procedures, including safeguarding and behaviour policies.
  • Contribute to the wider life of the school and participate in school activities where required.

The Ideal Primary Teacher Will Have

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
  • Previous experience teaching within a UK primary school setting.
  • A strong understanding of the Primary National Curriculum.
  • Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills.
  • The ability to plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons.
  • A passion for supporting children's learning, development and wellbeing.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A patient, enthusiastic and adaptable approach.
  • The ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff.
  • Experience supporting pupils with SEND would be advantageous.
  • A good understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
  • An enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.
  • A fully checkable employment and reference history.
