Salary: £92 – £115 per day
GSL Education are currently recruiting for a Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming secondary school in York. This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate and supportive individual looking to make a positive difference to the lives and education of young people.
The Role
As a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers to support pupils in accessing the curriculum and reaching their full potential. You may provide 1:1 and small-group support, helping pupils with their learning, confidence, communication and engagement.
The role would suit someone with experience supporting young people, particularly those with SEND, SEMH or behavioural needs.
Key Responsibilities as a Teaching Assistant:
- Provide 1:1 and small-group support to pupils across the school.
- Support pupils to engage positively with learning and develop their confidence and independence.
- Assist teachers with classroom activities and learning tasks.
- Adapt support to meet individual pupils' additional needs and learning styles.
- Help create a calm, positive and inclusive learning environment.
- Build positive and trusting relationships with pupils.
- Support pupils with social, emotional and behavioural needs where required.

- Previous experience in a school, care, youth work or support setting is desirable.
