Could you help students develop their digital skills while making Computer Studies engaging and accessible?
GSL Education South Yorkshire Branch are currently seeking a confident Computer Studies Teacher to work with a school in Barnsley. You will have the opportunity to support pupils in developing their understanding of computing while encouraging logical thinking, problem-solving and responsible use of technology.
Your role as a Computer Studies (CS) Teacher will include:
- Plan and deliver engaging lessons across relevant computing topics.
- Break down technical concepts into clear and accessible learning.
- Develop pupils' digital literacy and problem-solving skills.
- Make effective use of technology and appropriate classroom resources.
- Assess understanding and monitor individual progress.
- Encourage responsible and safe use of digital technology.
- Maintain a positive and well-organised classroom environment.
Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent is essential to be a Computer Studies Teacher.
- Strong knowledge of Computer Studies, Computing or a related subject.
- Previous teaching experience within a school setting is desirable.
- Good classroom and behaviour management skills.
- Ability to engage pupils with different levels of digital experience.
- Strong communication and organisational skills.
- Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) certificate on the Update Service, or willingness to apply.
- Good understanding of safeguarding and child protection.
