Salary: £460–£650 per week (depending on experience)

GSL Education South Yorkshire Branch are currently looking for an enthusiastic Sports Coach (Learning Support) to work with a school in Doncaster. This is a school-based classroom support role where your background in sport will help you encourage positive behaviour, build confidence and support students with their learning. While your coaching experience is highly valued, your primary responsibility will be supporting pupils within the classroom rather than delivering sports sessions.
As a Sports Coach (Learning Support), you will:
- Use sports and physical activities to encourage pupil engagement.
- Provide support to pupils during lessons, activities and wider school routines.
- Provide classroom support for individual students and small groups.
- Assist teachers in delivering engaging learning activities.
- Help develop teamwork, communication and confidence through sport.
- Adapt activities to suit different abilities and individual needs.
- Encourage positive behaviour and participation.
- Build supportive relationships with pupils and staff.
- Work alongside teachers and support staff to promote pupils' wider development.
Requirements for the Sports Coach (Learning Support) role:
- Previous experience working with children or young people is desirable.
- A background in sports coaching, education, youth work or a similar environment would be beneficial.
- Good understanding of how sport can support confidence, communication and teamwork.
- Patient, approachable and encouraging manner.
- Ability to motivate pupils and maintain positive boundaries.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) certificate on the Update Service, or willingness to apply.
- Good understanding of safeguarding and child protection.
