Salary: Up to £220 per day (depending on experience)

GSL Education South Yorkshire Branch are seeking a knowledgeable Geography Teacher to work with a school in Barnsley. The successful candidate will deliver engaging lessons while helping pupils develop their understanding of geographical concepts, places, environments and current issues.
Your responsibilities as a Geography Teacher:
- Plan and deliver well-structured Geography lessons.
- Teach geographical concepts using engaging and accessible approaches.
- Encourage pupils to develop analytical and critical-thinking skills.
- Use relevant resources, maps, data and case studies to support learning.
- Assess pupils' progress and provide constructive feedback.
- Adapt teaching to accommodate different learning needs.
- Maintain positive behaviour and high expectations within the classroom.
Requirements for the Geography Teacher role:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent is essential.
- Strong knowledge of Geography and relevant curriculum content.
- Previous experience teaching Geography in a school setting is desirable.
- Effective classroom and behaviour management skills.
- Ability to engage pupils with different abilities and levels of confidence.
- Good planning, communication and organisational skills.
- Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) certificate on the Update Service, or willingness to apply.
- Strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection.
