GSL Education South Yorkshire Branch are currently seeking a dedicated Computer Studies Teacher to work with schools across Doncaster.
The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and delivering engaging lessons that develop pupils' understanding of computing, digital technology and computer science. This is an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic teacher to inspire pupils and help them develop valuable skills for their future education and careers.
Responsibilities of a Computer Studies Teacher:
- Plan and deliver engaging Computer Studies lessons across different year groups and ability levels.
- Teach key concepts including computer systems, programming, algorithms, data and digital technology.
- Develop pupils' confidence in using computers, software and digital tools.
- Differentiate lessons and resources to meet the needs of individual pupils, including those with SEND.
- Encourage pupils to develop computational thinking, creativity and problem-solving skills.
- Maintain a positive, inclusive and well-managed classroom environment.
- Monitor and assess pupils' progress, providing constructive feedback.
- Prepare pupils for assessments and examinations where required.
- Promote responsible and safe use of technology, including online safety and digital citizenship.
Requirements of a Computer Studies Teacher:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
- Experience teaching Computer Studies, Computing or Computer Science within a school setting is desirable.
- Strong subject knowledge and understanding of the relevant curriculum.
- Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills.
- Ability to plan and deliver engaging, differentiated and practical lessons.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- A relevant degree or qualification in Computer Science, Computing, ICT, Education or a related subject is desirable.
