GSL Education South Yorkshire Branch are currently seeking a dedicated Design and Technology Teacher to work with schools across Doncaster.
The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and delivering engaging, practical and creative lessons that encourage pupils to develop their design, problem-solving and technical skills. This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate teacher to inspire pupils through hands-on learning and support their academic and personal development.
Responsibilities of a Design and Technology Teacher:
- Plan and deliver engaging Design and Technology lessons across different year groups and ability levels.
- Teach a range of practical, creative and technical skills in line with the curriculum.
- Encourage pupils to develop creativity, problem-solving and independent design skills.
- Support pupils through the design, development and evaluation of practical projects.
- Adapt lessons and resources to meet the needs of individual pupils, including those with SEND.
- Maintain a safe, organised and inclusive practical learning environment.
- Ensure pupils understand and follow appropriate workshop, equipment and health and safety procedures.
- Monitor and assess pupils' progress, providing constructive feedback to support improvement.
Requirements of a Design and Technology Teacher:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
- Experience teaching Design and Technology within a school setting is desirable.
- Strong knowledge of the Design and Technology curriculum and practical teaching methods.
- Confidence using relevant tools, equipment and materials safely.
- Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills.
- A relevant degree or qualification in Design and Technology, Engineering, Product Design, Education or a related subject is desirable.
