Job Title: Motor Vehicle Tutors
Location: Hull
Contract: Full-Time
Start Date: As Soon As Possible
Salary: £30,000-£38,000 per annum (Depending on experience)
Are you an experienced Motor Vehicle professional who enjoys sharing practical knowledge with young people? Do you have the patience, technical expertise and enthusiasm to help learners develop valuable automotive skills through hands-on training?
GSL Education Hull Branch are currently seeking Motor Vehicle Tutors to work in a specialist educational setting in Hull. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced automotive professional or vocational tutor who can deliver practical, engaging learning and support young people to build confidence, independence and employability skills.
Motor Vehicle Tutor Role:
The successful Motor Vehicle Tutor will provide practical and vocational training in a supportive learning environment. You will guide learners through a range of automotive tasks, helping them develop their technical understanding while adapting activities to suit different abilities, learning needs and levels of confidence.
Motor Vehicle Tutor Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging practical sessions covering vehicle maintenance, repair, components and workshop procedures.
- Demonstrate automotive techniques clearly and provide hands-on guidance throughout practical activities.
- Support learners to develop technical knowledge, confidence, independence and employability skills.
- Adapt practical tasks and teaching approaches to meet individual learning needs and abilities.
- Maintain a safe, organised and purposeful workshop environment, following relevant health and safety procedures.
- Monitor learners’ progress, provide constructive feedback and work with colleagues to support their wider development.
Motor Vehicle Tutor Requirements:
- Relevant qualifications, trade experience or substantial industry experience within Motor Vehicle or Automotive Engineering.
- Previous experience in vocational training, tutoring, teaching or mentoring is desirable.
- Strong practical knowledge of vehicle maintenance, repair, diagnostics and workshop safety.
- Ability to engage and support young people who may have additional learning needs or barriers to education.
- Patient, approachable and encouraging communication style, with the ability to build positive relationships with learners.
- An up-to-date CV covering the last 10 years with explanations for any gaps
- An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply for one.
