Job Title: Design and Technology Teacher
Location: Sheffield
Pay Rate: Up to £220 per day (depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract: Full-time/ Part-time, Day-to-day/ Long-term

GSL Education South Yorkshire Branch are seeking creative and technically skilled Design and Technology Teacher to work in reputed schools across Sheffield. We would like to hear from qualified educators who enjoy practical teaching and can help young people develop their design skills, technical knowledge, and confidence through hands-on learning.
As a Design and Technology Teacher, you will guide learners through the design and production process, combining theoretical knowledge with practical activities that encourage creativity, problem-solving, and technical development.
D&T Teacher Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging practical and theory-based lessons across the D&T curriculum
- Demonstrate effective techniques for working with materials, tools, machinery, and specialist equipment
- Guide students through research, design development, prototyping, production, and evaluation
- Introduce practical challenges that strengthen creativity and independent problem-solving
- Assess project work and provide constructive feedback to support improvement
- Maintain appropriate health and safety standards throughout workshop activities
DT Teacher Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or a recognised equivalent teaching qualification
- Strong understanding of the Design and Technology curriculum
- Practical knowledge of relevant materials, manufacturing processes, and workshop equipment
- Experience teaching D&T within a secondary school setting is desirable
- Effective classroom management and communication skills, particularly during practical lessons
- Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
