Supply SEN Teaching Assistant

Salary: £93.33+ per day (depending on experience)

Are you a passionate and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant looking for flexible work in Ashford? GSL Education Kent are currently seeking reliable and compassionate Supply SEN Teaching Assistants to support pupils with special educational needs across a range of schools in the Ashford area.
This opportunity is ideal for an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant who enjoys working with children and young people with additional needs and is looking for the flexibility to choose when and where they work. We are particularly keen to hear from candidates with experience supporting pupils with ASD, ADHD, SEMH, learning difficulties, and complex needs.
As a Supply SEN Teaching Assistant, you will provide individual and small-group support, assist pupils with their learning and development, and help create a safe, inclusive, and positive classroom environment. You will work closely with teachers and other members of staff to ensure pupils receive the appropriate support throughout the school day.
We work with a wide range of schools across Ashford, including mainstream, specialist, and SEN settings. These schools provide supportive environments where dedicated staff can make a genuine difference to the lives and education of pupils with additional needs.

Key Responsibilities of the Supply SEN Teaching Assistant:
- Provide one-to-one and small-group support to pupils with SEN
- Assist pupils with their learning, communication, social development, and independence
- Support the delivery of differentiated activities and learning programmes
- Promote positive behaviour and help maintain a calm and inclusive classroom environment
- Work collaboratively with teachers and wider school staff
- Follow individual support plans, school policies, and safeguarding procedures
- Adapt confidently to different school environments and pupils' needs
Requirements for the Supply SEN Teaching Assistant:
- Previous experience working with children or young people with SEN is mandatory
- Experience supporting pupils with ASD, ADHD, SEMH, learning difficulties, or complex needs is advantageous
- A patient, caring, and adaptable approach
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to build positive relationships with pupils
- Right to work in the UK
