Job Title: Teaching Assistant (Primary)
Location: Chesterfield
Salary: £460 – £600 per week (depending on experience and qualifications)
Contract Type: Long-term / Temporary, Full-time / Part-time

Are you passionate about helping children learn, grow and feel confident in the classroom? A welcoming primary school in Chesterfield is looking for a caring and committed Teaching Assistant to support pupils across their learning journey.
About the Role:
As a Teaching Assistant, you will work alongside the class teacher to support pupils with their learning and day-to-day development. You may provide one-to-one or small-group support, assist with classroom activities and help pupils stay engaged and confident throughout the school day.
From supporting early learning in EYFS to helping pupils develop key skills across KS1 and KS2, this role offers the chance to make a meaningful difference in a primary school setting.

Responsibilities:

Support pupils with classroom learning across EYFS, KS1 or KS2.

Work alongside the class teacher to deliver engaging learning activities.

Provide one-to-one and small-group support where needed.

Help pupils develop confidence, independence and positive learning habits.

Support age-appropriate behaviour and pastoral needs.

Assist with classroom organisation and daily routines.

Share observations and relevant feedback with the class teacher.
Requirements:
-
Previous experience working with children in a school, nursery or similar setting is desirable.

A caring, patient and encouraging approach.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
-
Ability to support children with different learning and developmental needs.

Confidence working both independently and as part of a wider school team.
-
A genuine commitment to helping pupils achieve their potential.
-
Relevant Teaching Assistant or education experience is advantageous.

Have the right to work in the UK.

Have an up-to-date CV with two relevant references from within the last two years.

Have an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service or be willing to apply for one through GSL Education.
Please be advised that this role requires a strong knowledge and understanding of safeguarding and child protection and that successful applicants must satisfy all background safer recruitment checks including providing an enhanced DBS certificate registered on the update service, or completing an application for a new check.
