Job Title: Early Years Teaching Assistant

Contract Type: Temporary, Supply, Part-Time, Full-Time
Start Date: As Soon As Possible
Salary Scale: £92 – £115 per day (Depending on experience)

GSL Education Hull Branch are currently seeking an Early Years Teaching Assistant to work in a primary school setting in Scarborough. This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who enjoys working with young children and can provide warm, nurturing and consistent support within an Early Years environment.
Early Years Teaching Assistant Role:
The successful Early Years Teaching Assistant will work closely with teachers and other staff to support children’s learning, development and wellbeing. You will help create a safe and engaging environment where children can learn through play, develop their communication and social skills, and become increasingly independent.
Early Years Teaching Assistant Responsibilities:
- Support the delivery of engaging, age-appropriate learning and play activities.
- Provide individual and small-group support to children based on their developmental and learning needs.
- Encourage children’s communication, social interaction, confidence and independence.
- Work closely with the class teacher to prepare resources and support daily classroom activities.
- Promote positive behaviour and maintain a safe, nurturing and inclusive learning environment.
- Observe children’s development and provide relevant feedback to the class teacher and wider staff team.
Early Years Teaching Assistant Requirements:
- Previous experience working with young children in an Early Years, nursery or primary setting is desirable.
- A good understanding of Early Years development and the importance of learning through play.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with children.
- A patient, caring and creative approach to supporting children with different abilities and needs.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team while also showing initiative when supporting pupils.
- An up-to-date CV covering the last 10 years with explanations for any gaps
- An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply for one.
