Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Middlesbrough
Pay Rate: £120 - £220 per day (depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract: Full-time/ Part-time, Day-to-day/ Long-term

GSL Education Newcastle Branch are seeking patient and adaptable SEN Teaching Assistant to join inclusive schools across Middlesbrough. We are looking for individuals who can recognise different learning needs, adjust their approach accordingly, and provide practical assistance that helps students access education with greater confidence.
The SEN TA will work alongside teachers and specialist staff to support learners with additional needs, helping to remove barriers and promote academic, social, and personal development.
SEN Teaching Assistant Responsibilities:
- Provide targeted one-to-one and small-group assistance according to individual needs
- Adapt classroom activities and resources to improve accessibility
- Reinforce key concepts through focused learning interventions
- Encourage communication, social interaction, confidence, and independent working
- Observe progress and communicate relevant developments to teaching and SEN staff
- Follow individual support plans and agreed strategies throughout the school day
SEN Teaching Assistant Requirements:
- Experience supporting children or young people with Special Educational Needs is desirable
- Understanding of SEN and inclusive educational practices
- Ability to adapt support according to different learning profiles and abilities
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- Patient, attentive, and flexible approach to individual needs
- Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
