Job Title: SEN Teacher
Location: Darlington
Pay Rate: £150 - £220 per day (depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract: Full-time/ Part-time, Day-to-day/ Long-term

GSL Education Newcastle Branch are looking for dedicated and adaptable SEN Teacher to work within schools across Darlington. We are seeking qualified educators who can tailor teaching to individual needs, remove barriers to learning, and create structured experiences that help young people develop academically, socially, and emotionally.
The SEN Teacher is going to deliver personalised and accessible learning for students with a range of additional needs, adapting lessons and strategies to promote confidence, independence, and continued development.
SEN Teacher Responsibilities:
- Design differentiated lessons around individual abilities and educational requirements
- Adapt teaching methods and resources to make curriculum content more accessible
- Deliver targeted interventions that address specific areas of learning and development
- Encourage communication, independence, social interaction, and positive engagement
- Monitor individual progress and use assessment outcomes to inform future teaching
- Collaborate with teaching assistants, SENCOs, families, and specialist professionals
SEN Teacher Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or a recognised equivalent teaching qualification
- Understanding of Special Educational Needs (SEN) and inclusive teaching practices
- Experience teaching children or young people with additional needs is highly desirable
- Ability to differentiate lessons and respond effectively to individual learning profiles
- Strong classroom management, communication, and relationship-building skills
- Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
