Job Title: English Teacher
Location: Middlesbrough
Pay Rate: £150 - £220 per day (depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract: Full-time/ Part-time, Day-to-day/ Long-term

GSL Education Newcastle Branch are recruiting knowledgeable and engaging English Teachers to work with welcoming school in Middlesbrough. We would like to hear from qualified educators who can inspire an appreciation of literature, strengthen written and spoken communication, and encourage learners to analyse texts with confidence and independence.
As an English Teacher, you will deliver purposeful lessons across language and literature, developing students’ reading comprehension, writing, vocabulary, critical thinking, and communication skills.
English Teacher Responsibilities:
- Plan engaging lessons across English Language and English Literature
- Introduce a varied range of texts, genres, authors, and writing styles
- Develop learners’ reading comprehension, analytical writing, and communication abilities
- Encourage discussion, interpretation, and evidence-based responses to texts
- Assess written and verbal work and provide constructive feedback for improvement
- Prepare examination classes through focused revision and assessment practice
English Teacher Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or a recognised equivalent teaching qualification
- Strong knowledge of the English curriculum
- Experience teaching English Language and Literature
- Ability to engage learners with texts and communicate complex ideas clearly
- Effective planning, assessment, communication, and classroom management skills
- Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
