Job Title: SEN Teacher

Contract Type: Temporary, Full Time, Term Time Only

Salary Scale: £174.70 to £270.94 per day (MPS/UPS)
Are you a passionate and dedicated SEN Teacher who can inspire pupils with additional needs and help them achieve their full potential? GSL Education Hull Branch are currently hiring a committed SEN Teacher to work across educational settings in Scarborough.
This is a rewarding opportunity for a teacher who can create engaging, inclusive lessons and provide tailored support to pupils with a range of special educational needs. You will play an important role in helping pupils develop academically, socially, emotionally, and personally.
Main Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons that meet the individual needs and abilities of pupils with SEN.
- Adapt teaching approaches, resources, and activities to support different learning styles and additional needs.
- Establish a positive, structured, and inclusive classroom environment where pupils feel safe and encouraged to learn.
- Monitor pupils’ progress and attainment, providing constructive feedback and adjusting support where required.
- Work closely with Teaching Assistants, support staff, parents, and other professionals to provide consistent pupil support.
- Promote positive behaviour, confidence, independence, and participation in learning and wider school life.
Minimum Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
- Previous experience teaching pupils with SEN or additional learning needs is essential or highly desirable.
- Good understanding of different SEN profiles and the ability to tailor teaching to individual needs.
- Strong classroom management, communication, and organisational skills.
- Patient, resilient, and adaptable approach with a genuine commitment to inclusive education.
- An Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for one.
