Looking for an opportunity to inspire students through creativity and practical skills?
GSL Education South Yorkshire Branch are seeking a creative and knowledgeable Design and Technology Teacher to work with a school in Doncaster. This is an opportunity to combine practical teaching with strong subject knowledge while helping pupils develop their creativity, technical understanding and problem-solving abilities.
Your responsibilities as a Design and Technology Teacher:
- Plan and deliver engaging D&T lessons in line with curriculum requirements.
- Develop pupils' practical, creative and technical skills.
- Encourage independent thinking through practical projects.
- Prepare suitable resources and equipment for lessons.
- Ensure pupils follow appropriate health and safety procedures.
- Assess work and provide constructive feedback.
- Maintain a positive and purposeful classroom environment.
Requirements to be a Design and Technology Teacher:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent is essential to be a D&T Teacher.
- Strong subject knowledge across relevant areas of Design and Technology.
- Previous D&T teaching experience within a school setting is desirable.
- Confident classroom and practical-work management skills.
- Ability to engage pupils with different abilities and learning needs.
- Strong communication, organisation and planning skills.
- Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) certificate on the Update Service, or willingness to apply.
- Good understanding of safeguarding and child protection.
