Salary: £92 - £115 per day (Depending on experience)

GSL Education Hull Branch are currently recruiting for a dedicated and resilient Teaching Assistant to work within a supportive educational setting in Hull. This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who can build positive relationships with young people and provide consistent support both in and outside the classroom.
About the Role
As a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teaching staff to support pupils with their learning, engagement, behaviour, and personal development. The role would suit someone who is patient, adaptable, and confident working with young people who may require additional encouragement and a structured approach to learning.
Core Responsibilities of the Teaching Assistant
- Provide one-to-one and small-group support to pupils across a range of learning activities.
- Assist pupils with accessing lessons, completing tasks, and developing practical and transferable skills.
- Build positive, trusting relationships that encourage confidence, motivation, and independence.
- Support positive behaviour and help pupils remain focused and engaged in their learning.
- Adapt your approach to meet individual learning, emotional, behavioural, and communication needs.
- Work closely with teachers and wider staff to provide consistent support and monitor pupils’ progress.
As the Ideal Teaching Assistant, You Should Have
- Previous experience supporting children or young people in an educational, youth, care, or similar setting.
- A patient, calm, and supportive approach when working with pupils who may face barriers to learning.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
- The resilience to manage challenging or changing situations professionally.
- The ability to encourage positive behaviour, engagement, and independence.
- A genuine commitment to helping young people develop and achieve their potential.
To Work with GSL Education, You Must:
- Have the right to work in the UK.
- Have an up-to-date CV with at least 2 professional references covering the last 2 years.
- Have recent experience working with children or young people.
- Hold an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or be willing to apply for one.
