Job Title: Motor Vehicle Teacher
Location: Hull
Contract: Full-Time
Start Date: As Soon As Possible
Salary: £34,068 to £52,834 per annum (Depending on experience)

GSL Education Hull Branch are currently seeking a Motor Vehicle Teacher to work within a specialist educational setting in Hull. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced automotive professional or teacher who can provide engaging, practical learning experiences for young people with a range of individual needs and barriers to learning.
Motor Vehicle Teacher Role:
The successful Motor Vehicle Teacher will deliver practical and engaging motor vehicle lessons, supporting learners to develop their technical knowledge, confidence and employability skills. The role will involve creating a structured and encouraging learning environment where pupils can develop through hands-on activities, demonstrations and practical tasks.
Motor Vehicle Teacher Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver practical motor vehicle lessons that are accessible, engaging and appropriate for learners’ abilities.
- Teach essential automotive knowledge, including vehicle maintenance, components, diagnostics and workshop practices.
- Demonstrate practical techniques clearly and provide individual guidance during hands-on activities.
- Support learners to develop confidence, independence, teamwork and employability skills through vocational learning.
- Maintain a safe, organised and well-managed workshop environment, ensuring appropriate health and safety procedures are followed.
- Monitor learners’ progress, provide constructive feedback and adapt activities to meet individual learning needs.
Motor Vehicle Teacher Requirements:
- Relevant qualifications/QTS or substantial industry experience within Motor Vehicle, Automotive Engineering or a related field.
- Previous experience delivering practical automotive training, teaching or vocational instruction is desirable.
- Strong practical knowledge of vehicle maintenance, repair, workshop procedures and health and safety.
- The ability to engage and support young people with a range of learning needs, behaviours and barriers to education.
- Excellent communication, patience and classroom/workshop management skills, with a positive and encouraging approach.
- An up-to-date CV covering the last 10 years with explanations for any gaps
- An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply for one.
