Pay Rate: Up to £220 per day (depending on experience)

Contract: Full-time/ Part-time, Day-to-day/ Long-term

GSL Education South Yorkshire Branch are seeking resilient and committed SEMH Teacher to work within schools across Sheffield. This opportunity is suited to qualified educators who can adapt their teaching to individual needs, establish a structured and reassuring classroom environment, and help students reconnect with learning while developing greater confidence.
The Social, Emotional and Mental Health Teacher is going to deliver accessible and engaging lessons for learners with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, balancing academic progress with emotional development, positive behaviour, and individual wellbeing.
SEMH Teacher Responsibilities:
- Plan differentiated lessons that reflect individual academic and SEMH requirements
- Establish clear routines and expectations that create consistency within the classroom
- Integrate emotional regulation and positive behaviour strategies into everyday teaching
- Encourage young people to develop resilience, confidence, and greater independence
- Assess academic progress and engagement to identify appropriate next steps
- Collaborate with teaching assistants, pastoral teams, and specialist professionals to coordinate provision
SEMH Teacher Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or a recognised equivalent teaching qualification
- Sound understanding of Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs
- Experience teaching students with additional, emotional, or behavioural needs is highly desirable
- Confidence using appropriate behaviour management and de-escalation approaches
- Adaptable classroom leadership with strong communication and relationship-building skills
- Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
