Job Title: Behaviour Support
Location: Sheffield
Pay Rate: £460 - £600 per week (depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract: Full-time/ Part-time, Day-to-day/ Long-term

GSL Education South Yorkshire Branch are looking for confident and supportive Behaviour Support to join welcoming schools in Sheffield. We welcome individuals who can build rapport with students, recognise the reasons behind difficult behaviour, and provide consistent guidance that encourages better engagement, emotional regulation, and personal development.
The Behaviour Support role will involve working closely with learners who require additional behavioural or emotional guidance, helping them develop strategies to manage their responses and participate more effectively in school.
Behaviour Support Responsibilities:
- Establish respectful relationships with young people who require additional guidance
- Identify situations that may contribute to frustration, disruption, or disengagement
- Implement positive behaviour strategies in line with individual support plans
- Help students develop techniques for managing emotions and resolving conflict
- Monitor behavioural progress and communicate significant observations to relevant staff
- Work collaboratively with teachers and pastoral teams to maintain consistent approaches
Behaviour Support Requirements:
- Experience working in education, youth services, mentoring, care, or a similar environment
- Understanding of positive behaviour management and de-escalation techniques
- Ability to remain calm and make appropriate decisions in challenging circumstances
- Confidence establishing boundaries while maintaining constructive relationships
- Resilient, observant, and adaptable approach to supporting young people
- Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
