Job Title: Behaviour Support
Location: Rotherham
Pay Rate: £460 - £650 per week (depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract: Full-time/ Part-time, Day-to-day/ Long-term

GSL Education South Yorkshire Branch are seeking calm and resilient Behaviour Support staff to work within reputed schools in Rotherham. This position would suit individuals who can connect effectively with students, maintain clear boundaries, and use constructive strategies to improve behaviour, participation, and engagement with education.
The Behaviour Support role will focus on helping learners manage behavioural and emotional difficulties, understand expectations, and develop strategies that enable them to participate more successfully in school life.
Behaviour Support Responsibilities:
- Build constructive relationships with young people requiring additional behavioural guidance
- Recognise triggers and early warning signs that may lead to challenging situations
- Apply positive behaviour strategies and appropriate de-escalation techniques
- Guide students in reflecting on their actions and considering alternative responses
- Track changes in conduct, engagement, and emotional regulation
- Coordinate with teachers and pastoral colleagues to provide consistent intervention
Behaviour Support Requirements:
- Experience in education, mentoring, youth work, care, or another relevant environment is desirable
- Knowledge of positive behaviour management and de-escalation approaches
- Confidence remaining composed and professional during demanding situations
- Ability to establish clear expectations while maintaining supportive relationships
- Strong communication skills with a consistent and adaptable working style
- Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
