Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Rotherham
Pay Rate: £460 - £600 per week (depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract: Full-time/ Part-time, Day-to-day/ Long-term

GSL Education South Yorkshire Branch are partnering with inclusive schools throughout Rotherham to find caring and adaptable SEN Teaching Assistant. We would like to hear from individuals who can understand different Special Educational Needs, adjust their approach to suit each learner, and provide practical assistance that supports both academic and personal development.
The Special Educational Needs TA will work alongside teachers and specialist staff to make learning more accessible, encourage independence, and ensure students receive appropriate support throughout the school day.
SEN Teaching Assistant Responsibilities:
- Adapt classroom activities and resources around individual learning requirements
- Guide students through tasks that require additional explanation or reinforcement
- Deliver focused one-to-one and small-group learning interventions
- Encourage communication, social interaction, confidence, and independent working
- Observe educational and developmental progress and communicate relevant findings
- Collaborate with teaching and SEN teams to follow individual support strategies
SEN Teaching Assistant Requirements:
- Awareness of Special Educational Needs (SEN) and inclusive education practices
- Experience supporting children or young people with additional needs
- Ability to modify support according to different abilities and circumstances
- Strong interpersonal skills for developing positive relationships with learners
- Patient, observant, and flexible approach to individual learning needs
- Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
