Job Title: Level 3 Teaching Assistant (Primary)
Location: Sheffield S5
Salary: £460 – £600 per week (depending on experience and qualifications)
Contract Type: Long-term / Temporary, Full-time / Part-time
Start Date: Immediate Start
Are you a qualified Level 3 Teaching Assistant who enjoys helping young children learn and develop? A welcoming primary school in Sheffield S5 is looking for a skilled Teaching Assistant to support pupils across the primary age range and contribute to their day-to-day learning.
About the Role:
As a Level 3 Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with the class teacher to support learning across EYFS, KS1 and KS2. You will help deliver planned activities, provide focused one-to-one and small-group support, and assist pupils with developing their literacy, numeracy, communication and social skills. Your experience and initiative will also allow you to take responsibility for supporting learning activities under the teacher's direction.

Responsibilities:

Support the class teacher with planned lessons and daily classroom activities.

Provide targeted one-to-one and small-group support across EYFS, KS1 and KS2.

Assist pupils with phonics, reading, writing and numeracy activities.

Help prepare learning resources and set up classroom activities.

Support children with age-appropriate behaviour, communication and emotional development.

Encourage pupils to participate confidently and develop greater independence.

Observe and record pupils' progress and share relevant feedback with the class teacher.

Support classroom routines, transitions, break times and other aspects of the school day.
Requirements:

A Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent.

Previous experience working within a primary school setting.

Good understanding of the EYFS, KS1 and KS2 curriculum and classroom environment.

Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with children.

A patient, organised and proactive approach.

Confidence supporting pupils with a range of learning needs and abilities.

Ability to work effectively alongside teachers and other school staff.

Have the right to work in the UK.

Have an up-to-date CV with two relevant references from within the last two years.

Have an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service or be willing to apply for one through GSL Education.
Please be advised that this role requires a strong knowledge and understanding of safeguarding and child protection and that successful applicants must satisfy all background safer recruitment checks including providing an enhanced DBS certificate registered on the update service, or completing an application for a new check.
