Job Title: Cover Supervisor
Location: Worksop
Salary: £460 – £650 per week (depending on experience and qualifications)
Contract Type: Long-term / Temporary, Full-time / Part-time

Are you confident managing a classroom and able to keep pupils focused and engaged? A welcoming secondary school in Worksop is looking for a reliable Cover Supervisor to support pupils and maintain a positive learning environment.
About the Role:
As a Cover Supervisor, you will supervise classes when their regular teacher is unavailable, ensuring pupils have clear instructions and remain focused on their work. You will manage classroom behaviour, provide guidance where needed and help maintain a calm and purposeful environment throughout the school day.

Responsibilities:

Supervise classes in the absence of the regular teacher.

Deliver prepared lesson materials and ensure pupils understand the work set.

Maintain positive classroom behaviour and encourage pupils to stay on task.

Provide appropriate support and guidance during lessons.

Help maintain a safe, orderly and purposeful learning environment.

Record and report relevant behaviour, attendance or safeguarding concerns.

Follow school policies and procedures consistently.
Requirements:

Previous experience working with children or young people is desirable.

Confident communication and classroom management skills.

A calm, consistent and professional approach.

Ability to follow lesson plans and instructions effectively.

Strong organisation and reliability.

Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff.

Previous school or education experience is advantageous.

Have the right to work in the UK.

Have an up-to-date CV with two relevant references from within the last two years.

Have an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service or be willing to apply for one through GSL Education.
Please be advised that this role requires a strong knowledge and understanding of safeguarding and child protection and that successful applicants must satisfy all background safer recruitment checks including providing an enhanced DBS certificate registered on the update service, or completing an application for a new check.
