Job Title: Geography Teacher
Location: Barnsley
Pay Rate: Up to £220 per day (depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract: Full-time/ Part-time, Day-to-day/ Long-term

GSL Education South Yorkshire Branch are supporting reputed schools throughout Barnsley to find knowledgeable and enthusiastic Geography Teacher. This opportunity would suit qualified educators who can make geographical topics relevant, encourage curiosity about global issues, and develop learners’ ability to analyse information and think critically.
The Geography Teacher will deliver engaging lessons across physical and human geography, helping young people understand geographical processes while developing their investigative, analytical, and interpretive skills.
Geography Teacher Responsibilities:
- Deliver well-planned lessons covering key areas of the secondary Geography curriculum
- Explore physical, human, and environmental topics through varied classroom activities
- Integrate maps, data, case studies, and digital resources into teaching
- Encourage students to investigate geographical issues and draw evidence-based conclusions
- Assess academic progress and provide constructive feedback for improvement
- Prepare examination groups through targeted revision and assessment practice
Geography Teacher Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or a recognised equivalent teaching qualification
- Strong understanding of the Geography curriculum
- Experience teaching Geography across relevant key stages
- Ability to communicate complex geographical concepts in an accessible manner
- Effective lesson planning, assessment, and classroom management skills
- Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
