Job Title: Teaching Assistant
Location: Barnsley
Pay Rate: Up to £220 per day (depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract: Full-time/ Part-time, Day-to-day/ Long-term

GSL Education South Yorkshire Branch are looking for enthusiastic and reliable Teaching Assistant (TA) to join vibrant schools in Barnsley. We welcome individuals who can work effectively alongside teachers, respond to different learning needs, and provide encouragement that helps students become more confident and independent.
The Teaching Assistant will contribute to everyday classroom learning by reinforcing key concepts, providing targeted assistance, and helping individuals participate successfully in lessons and school activities.
Teaching Assistant Responsibilities:
- Guide learners through activities when additional explanation or support is required
- Work with individuals and small groups to reinforce lesson content
- Modify resources and tasks to accommodate different abilities and learning needs
- Encourage active participation, confidence, and independent working habits
- Monitor engagement and communicate relevant observations to teaching staff
- Assist with maintaining positive routines and an organised learning environment
Teaching Assistant Requirements:
- Previous experience working with children or young people is desirable
- Understanding of classroom learning and different educational needs
- Ability to establish supportive and professional relationships with students
- Confidence providing one-to-one and small-group assistance
- Good communication, organisation, and teamwork skills
- Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
