Job Title: Cover Supervisor
Location: Sheffield
Salary: £460 - £650 per week (depending on experience and qualifications)
Contract Type: Long-term / Temporary, Full-time / Part-time

Are you confident leading a classroom and looking for a rewarding opportunity in education? A welcoming secondary school in Sheffield is seeking a reliable Cover Supervisor to support students and maintain a positive learning environment.
About the Role:
As a Cover Supervisor, you will supervise classes during teacher absences, deliver prepared lesson materials and ensure students remain focused and engaged with their work. You will work closely with teaching staff and help maintain a calm, well-structured classroom throughout the school day.

Responsibilities:

Supervise classes in the absence of the regular teacher.

Deliver pre-prepared lesson activities and instructions.

Maintain positive behaviour and classroom expectations.

Support students with their learning and encourage participation.

Manage classroom routines and ensure a safe learning environment.

Provide relevant feedback to teaching staff where appropriate.
Requirements:
-
Previous experience working with children or young people is desirable.

Confident classroom management and communication skills.

Ability to follow lesson plans and instructions effectively.

A calm, organised and adaptable approach.

Ability to build positive relationships with students.

Experience in a school or education setting is advantageous.

Have the right to work in the UK.

Have an up-to-date CV with two relevant references from within the last two years.

Have an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service or be willing to apply for one through GSL Education.
Please be advised that this role requires a strong knowledge and understanding of safeguarding and child protection and that successful applicants must satisfy all background safer recruitment checks including providing an enhanced DBS certificate registered on the update service, or completing an application for a new check.
