Job Title: Behaviour Support
Location: Sheffield
Pay Rate: £460 - £650 per week (depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract: Full-time/ Part-time, Day-to-day/ Long-term

GSL Education South Yorkshire Branch are looking for resilient and approachable Behaviour Support to join welcoming schools across Sheffield. We are seeking individuals who can build constructive relationships with students, respond calmly to challenging situations, and provide consistent guidance that supports improved behaviour, engagement, and emotional regulation.
The Behaviour Support role involves working closely with learners who may experience behavioural or emotional difficulties, helping them understand expectations, manage their responses, and participate more positively in education.
Behaviour Support Responsibilities:
- Establish positive relationships with young people requiring additional behavioural guidance
- Recognise potential triggers and intervene appropriately before situations escalate
- Apply agreed behaviour strategies consistently across classroom and school environments
- Support students in reflecting on incidents and developing more constructive responses
- Monitor patterns in behaviour, engagement, and emotional wellbeing
- Work alongside teachers and pastoral staff to maintain coordinated support
Behaviour Support Requirements:
- Experience within education, mentoring, youth work, care, or another relevant setting
- Knowledge of positive behaviour management and de-escalation approaches
- Ability to remain composed and professional during challenging situations
- Confidence establishing clear boundaries while maintaining supportive relationships
- Strong communication skills with a consistent and adaptable approach
- Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
