Are you a Learning Support Assistant, Teaching Assistant, SEN Teaching Assistant or experienced childcare/support professional looking for a rewarding long-term opportunity in Harlow?
GSL Education is currently recruiting for a 1:1 Learning Support Assistant to join a primary school in Harlow, supporting a child with Special Educational Needs (SEN) on a dedicated 1:1 basis.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting children, building positive relationships and helping pupils overcome barriers to learning.
About the Role
You will work closely with the class teacher and wider support team to provide dedicated 1:1 support to a child with SEN, helping them access learning and feel confident and included within the classroom.
Your responsibilities may include:
- Providing 1:1 support to a child with SEN
- Supporting the pupil to access the curriculum and classroom activities
- Encouraging engagement, confidence and independence
- Helping with classroom routines, transitions and structured activities
- Supporting communication, social development and positive interaction
- Using a calm, patient and consistent approach
- Helping to manage behaviour and emotional regulation where required
- Working closely with the class teacher and SENCO
- Following individual support strategies and guidance
- Creating a positive, safe and inclusive learning environment

Previous experience supporting children with SEN, autism, ADHD, SEMH, behavioural needs, communication difficulties or learning difficulties would be highly desirable.
