Salary: £460 – £600 per week (depending on experience and qualifications)
Contract Type: Long-term / Temporary, Full-time / Part-time

Are you passionate about supporting young people with additional needs and helping them feel confident and engaged in school? A supportive SEN setting in Sheffield is seeking a dedicated Behaviour Support professional to join their team.
About the Role:
As a Behaviour Support professional, you will provide tailored support to pupils who may need additional help with behaviour, emotional regulation and engagement. Working closely with teachers and support staff, you will help pupils access learning, manage challenges and develop positive routines throughout the school day.
You will build consistent relationships with pupils while maintaining clear boundaries and a calm, structured approach.

Responsibilities:

Provide individual and small-group support to pupils with SEN and behavioural needs.

Work alongside teachers to support learning, engagement and positive behaviour.

Help pupils manage emotions and develop appropriate strategies for challenging situations.

Build positive, trusting relationships while maintaining professional boundaries.

Encourage participation in lessons and school activities.

Promote a calm, safe and consistent learning environment.

Share relevant observations and feedback with teachers and support staff.
Requirements:
-
Previous experience supporting children or young people with SEN is desirable.

Experience working with behavioural or emotional needs is advantageous.

A calm, patient and resilient approach.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to remain consistent when supporting challenging behaviour.

A genuine commitment to helping pupils overcome barriers to learning.

Ability to work effectively as part of a wider school team.
To work with GSL Education as a Behaviour Support (SEN), you should:

Have the right to work in the UK.

Have an up-to-date CV with two relevant references from within the last two years.

Have an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service or be willing to apply for one through GSL Education.
Please be advised that this role requires a strong knowledge and understanding of safeguarding and child protection and that successful applicants must satisfy all background safer recruitment checks including providing an enhanced DBS certificate registered on the update service, or completing an application for a new check.
