Salary: £460 – £650 per week (depending on experience and qualifications)

Are you confident leading a classroom and keeping students focused when their usual teacher is unavailable? A supportive secondary school in Doncaster is seeking a dependable Cover Supervisor to join its team.
About the Role:
As a Cover Supervisor, you will oversee lessons across a range of subjects, following the work provided by teachers and ensuring students remain focused throughout the session. You will manage classroom behaviour, answer questions where appropriate and provide a consistent presence for students across Key Stages 3 and 4.
This role would suit someone who enjoys working with young people, is organised and can confidently take responsibility for a classroom.

Responsibilities:

Supervise classes across different subjects in the absence of the regular teacher.

Deliver lesson plans and ensure students understand the work they have been set.

Maintain effective classroom management and address behaviour appropriately.

Encourage students to remain engaged and complete their assigned work.

Support smooth transitions between lessons and maintain an orderly classroom.

Record relevant information and provide feedback to teaching staff when required.
Requirements:

Previous experience working with children or young people is desirable.

Confident classroom management and communication skills.

A calm, organised and reliable approach.

Ability to work independently while following lesson plans and school procedures.

Confidence working with secondary-aged students.

Experience in a school or education setting is advantageous.

Have the right to work in the UK.

Have an up-to-date CV with two relevant references from within the last two years.

Have an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service or be willing to apply for one through GSL Education.
Please be advised that this role requires a strong knowledge and understanding of safeguarding and child protection and that successful applicants must satisfy all background safer recruitment checks including providing an enhanced DBS certificate registered on the update service, or completing an application for a new check.
