Job Title: Exam Invigilator

Contract: Temporary, Supply, Part-Time
Start Date: As Soon As Possible
Salary: £92 - £115 per day (Depending on experience)

GSL Education Hull Branch are currently seeking an Exam Invigilator to work in a secondary school in York. This is a valuable opportunity for a responsible and organised individual who can supervise examinations effectively, maintain confidentiality and help ensure that all candidates have a fair and suitable environment in which to complete their assessments.
Exam Invigilator Role:
The successful Exam Invigilator will be responsible for supervising examination sessions in line with established procedures and regulations. You will need to remain vigilant throughout each session, provide clear instructions to candidates and respond appropriately to any issues while maintaining a calm and professional atmosphere.
Exam Invigilator Responsibilities:
- Set up examination rooms and ensure the required materials and seating arrangements are in place.
- Supervise candidates throughout examinations and ensure examination regulations are followed.
- Distribute and collect examination papers and other permitted materials accurately.
- Provide candidates with clear instructions and respond appropriately to routine queries.
- Remain alert to any irregularities or incidents and report concerns to the appropriate examination staff.
- Maintain confidentiality and help ensure examination scripts and materials are securely handled.
Exam Invigilator Requirements:
- Previous experience in an invigilation, education, administration or supervisory role is desirable.
- Excellent attention to detail with the ability to follow procedures and instructions accurately.
- Reliable, punctual and able to remain focused for extended periods.
- Calm and professional manner when working with young people in potentially high-pressure situations.
- Strong communication skills and a commitment to maintaining confidentiality and safeguarding standards.
- An up-to-date CV covering the last 10 years, with any employment gaps explained
- An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply for one.
