Role: Teaching Assistant – KS1
Location: South Manchester
Salary: £95–£120 per day (Supply) / £18,525–£23,400 per annum (195 days, Permanent) (Depending on experience)
Contract Type: Full-Time, Long-Term

GSL Education Manchester Branch are recruiting a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join a primary school in South Manchester, supporting pupils across Year 1 and Year 2. The role will involve working with individuals and small groups, including pupils on the SEN register, and supporting their learning, behaviour and personal development.
Trial days are available within the next 7 days, with a view to a full-time, long-term placement starting in the coming weeks.
As a Teaching Assistant (TA), you will:

Support individuals and small groups across KS1.

Work with pupils on the SEN register and provide appropriate classroom support.

Deliver phonics through interventions and differentiated group work under the direction of the class teacher.

Support pupils with communication, behaviour and personal, social and emotional development.

Provide feedback on pupil progress and behaviour.

Assist with accurate record-keeping.

Lead play activities during playtime and lunchtime provision.

Help with classroom preparation and outdoor activity supervision.
The successful Teaching Assistant will have:

Experience working with KS1-aged pupils.

Experience delivering phonics.
-
NVQ Level 2 or 3 for Teaching Assistants, or currently working towards the qualification, or equivalent experience.

Confidence using appropriate behaviour management strategies.

Availability to attend a trial day within the next week.

Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) certificate on the Update Service, or willingness to apply.

Two professional references covering the last two years.
