GSL Education are seeking experienced and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistants to join us. We have recently expanded into South London and will be working with various schools across Greenwich, Lambeth, Lewisham, Bexley, Bromley, Croydon, Merton and Wandsworth. These are full-time, term-time opportunities to support primary-aged students with SEN and SEMH.

The successful candidate will have previous experience working with children or young people with Special Educational Needs and will be confident supporting students who may present with challenging behaviour. You will work closely with teachers and other professionals to provide tailored support, helping students to engage positively in their learning and development.

The ideal candidate will:

  • Have previous experience working with students with SEN, particularly Autism
  • Have experience managing challenging behaviours and using positive behaviour strategies
  • Be confident working with primary school students
  • Be patient, resilient and able to build positive relationships with young people
  • Hold GCSE grades A–C (or equivalent) in Maths, English and Science
  • Be available to work full-time, Monday to Friday
  • Have a genuine passion for supporting young people with additional needs

What the role involves:

  • Providing classroom and individual support to secondary-aged students
  • Supporting students with Autism and additional SEN needs
  • Assisting with behaviour management and promoting positive engagement
  • Working closely with teaching staff and the wider SEN team
  • Helping to create a safe, supportive and inclusive learning environment
