Job Title: Level 3 Teaching Assistant (Primary)
Location: Sheffield S5
Salary: £460 - £600 per week (depending on experience and qualifications)
Contract Type: Long-term / Temporary, Full-time / Part-time

Are you a qualified Level 3 Teaching Assistant who enjoys helping children build confidence and make progress in their learning? A welcoming primary school in Sheffield S5 is looking for a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join their team and provide valuable classroom support.
About the Role:
As a Level 3 Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with the class teacher to support pupils throughout the school day. You will help deliver learning activities, work with individuals and small groups, and provide additional support where pupils need it most.
The role may involve supporting children across EYFS, KS1 or KS2, with responsibilities including literacy and numeracy activities, classroom routines, behaviour support and pastoral care. Your Level 3 qualification and practical experience will allow you to make a positive contribution to both learning and the wider classroom environment.

Responsibilities:

Support the class teacher with lessons, activities and daily classroom routines.

Work with individual pupils and small groups to reinforce learning.

Provide targeted support with literacy, numeracy and other curriculum activities.

Assist pupils across EYFS, KS1 or KS2 according to their needs.

Support positive behaviour and encourage pupils to engage with learning.

Provide pastoral support and help pupils develop independence and confidence.

Assist pupils with SEN and additional learning needs where appropriate.

Maintain a safe, calm and inclusive classroom environment.
Requirements:

A relevant Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent.

Previous experience working within a primary school environment.

Good understanding of the needs of children across EYFS, KS1 and KS2.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

A patient, caring and consistent approach.
-
Confidence supporting pupils individually and in small groups.

Ability to work effectively alongside teachers and wider school staff.

SEN or additional learning needs experience is advantageous.

Have the right to work in the UK.

Have an up-to-date CV with two relevant references from within the last two years.

Have an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service or be willing to apply for one through GSL Education.
Please be advised that this role requires a strong knowledge and understanding of safeguarding and child protection and that successful applicants must satisfy all background safer recruitment checks including providing an enhanced DBS certificate registered on the update service, or completing an application for a new check.
