Job Title: Early Years Teaching Assistant
Location: Hull
Contract: Temporary, Full-Time
Start Date: As Soon As Possible
Salary: £92 - £115 per day (Depending on experience)
Are you enthusiastic about working with young children and passionate about helping them build confidence, develop new skills, and enjoy learning? GSL Education Hull Branch are currently recruiting a caring and enthusiastic Early Years Teaching Assistant to work across educational settings in Hull.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys creating engaging learning experiences and supporting children during the important early stages of their education. You will work alongside teaching staff to provide a nurturing, safe, and stimulating environment where every child can develop at their own pace.
Main Responsibilities:
- Support children through play-based activities that encourage their learning, curiosity, communication, and development.
- Provide one-to-one and small-group support based on individual learning and developmental needs.
- Assist teachers with preparing activities, classroom resources, and engaging learning opportunities.
- Encourage positive social skills, confidence, independence, and appropriate behaviour.
- Observe children’s engagement and development, sharing relevant observations with teaching staff.
- Help maintain a safe, welcoming, and inclusive learning environment in line with safeguarding procedures.
Minimum Requirements:
- Previous experience working with young children in an Early Years, nursery, school, childcare, or similar setting is desirable.
- A relevant Level 2 or Level 3 Early Years, Childcare, or Teaching Assistant qualification is advantageous.
- A warm, patient, and nurturing approach with the ability to build positive relationships with young children.
- Good understanding of early childhood development and the value of play-based learning.
- Strong communication, teamwork, and organisational skills with a reliable and proactive attitude.
- An Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for one.
