About the role

GSL Education Kent are currently recruiting a Spanish Teacher to work in a supportive secondary school in Ashford. Starting from tomorrow, this opportunity will run at least until the end of Term 1, with the potential to continue for longer.

This is an excellent opportunity for a Spanish Teacher who wants to concentrate on delivering engaging lessons and supporting pupils without being responsible for lesson planning or marking.

About the School

This well-established secondary school provides a positive and inclusive environment where pupils are encouraged to engage confidently with their learning. The school offers a supportive setting for staff, with a clear focus on maintaining positive classroom experiences and strong pupil progress.

Spanish Teacher role

The successful Spanish Teacher will join a welcoming department and deliver Spanish lessons across the secondary age range. Existing lesson resources and schemes of work will be available, meaning the focus will be on effective classroom delivery, pupil engagement and maintaining positive behaviour.

We are ideally seeking a qualified Spanish Teacher with QTS, although applications from experienced unqualified teachers with strong Spanish subject knowledge may also be considered.

The successful candidate will:

  • Have QTS and relevant experience teaching Spanish, ideally within a UK secondary school setting

  • Have strong subject knowledge and the ability to communicate Spanish effectively to pupils

  • Be confident managing a secondary classroom and maintaining positive behaviour

  • Deliver engaging and accessible Spanish lessons using the resources provided

  • Build positive relationships with pupils and encourage participation in language learning

  • Be available to start immediately and commit at least until the October half term

Please be advised that this role requires a strong knowledge and understanding of safeguarding and child protection and that successful applicants must satisfy all background safer recruitment checks including providing an enhanced DBS on the update service, or completing an application for a new check.

We also offer, via our partner, access to accredited Education-relevant CPD courses.

In addition to that, GSL Education is currently offering £100 for the successful referral of either Teachers or Teaching Assistants (Ts & Cs apply).
