Job Title: Teaching Assistant
Location: Darlington
Pay Rate: £90 - £120 per day (depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract: Full-time/ Part-time, Day-to-day/ Long-term

GSL Education Newcastle Branch are recruiting enthusiastic and reliable Teaching Assistant (TA) to work with fabulous schools in Darlington. This role would suit individuals who enjoy working closely with children and young people, can respond flexibly to different learning needs, and are prepared to contribute positively to everyday classroom activities.
The Teaching Assistant will work alongside teachers to strengthen learning, provide additional guidance where required, and help students develop confidence, independence, and positive attitudes towards education.
Teaching Assistant Responsibilities:
- Assist learners with activities that require additional explanation or guidance
- Lead focused one-to-one and small-group sessions under teacher direction
- Prepare classroom resources and materials for planned learning activities
- Encourage students to contribute, ask questions, and work more independently
- Observe engagement and progress to provide useful feedback to teaching staff
- Reinforce classroom expectations and contribute to a positive learning atmosphere
Teaching Assistant Requirements:
- Experience working with children or young people within education or a similar environment
- Ability to communicate effectively with learners of different ages and abilities
- Awareness of varied learning needs and appropriate methods of classroom assistance
- Confidence working collaboratively with teachers and other support professionals
- Organised, approachable, and flexible attitude towards school-based work
- Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
