Job Title: Learning Support Assistant
Location: Middlesbrough
Pay Rate: £90 - £120 per day (depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract: Full-time/ Part-time, Day-to-day/ Long-term

GSL Education are seeking committed and approachable Learning Support Assistant to join welcoming schools throughout Middlesbrough. This opportunity would suit individuals who can respond to different learning needs, build constructive relationships with young people, and provide practical assistance that makes classroom activities more accessible and manageable.
As an LSA, you will work alongside teaching staff to reduce barriers to education, strengthen understanding, and encourage students to become more confident and independent in their learning.
Learning Support Assistant Responsibilities:
- Guide individuals through tasks when additional explanation or reassurance is required
- Facilitate targeted learning activities with students individually or in small groups
- Modify resources and approaches according to different abilities and learning needs
- Motivate young people to remain involved and take greater ownership of their work
- Observe academic engagement and share relevant developments with teaching staff
- Promote an inclusive environment where learners feel comfortable asking for assistance
Learning Support Assistant Requirements:
- Previous experience in education, learning support, youth work, or a related environment
- Awareness of different learning needs and potential barriers to education
- Ability to communicate instructions clearly and establish positive relationships
- Confidence providing both individual and small-group assistance
- Patient, observant, and adaptable approach to supporting young people
- Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
