Job Title: Secondary Teaching Assistant
Location: Middlesbrough
Pay Rate: £90 - £120 per day (depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract: Full-time/ Part-time, Day-to-day/ Long-term

GSL Education Newcastle Branch are recruiting motivated and adaptable Secondary Teaching Assistant (TA) to work with reputed schools in Middlesbrough. We are looking for individuals who can work effectively alongside teachers, connect positively with young people, and provide focused assistance to students with different academic and developmental needs.
The Secondary Teaching Assistant will contribute to classroom learning across a range of subjects, providing targeted support that helps learners understand lesson content, participate actively, and become increasingly independent.
Secondary Teaching Assistant Responsibilities:
- Assist students who require additional guidance during classroom activities
- Reinforce lesson content through focused one-to-one and small-group sessions
- Adapt learning materials to make activities accessible for different abilities
- Encourage young people to participate actively and remain focused on assigned work
- Monitor progress and communicate useful observations to teaching staff
- Contribute to positive classroom routines and an inclusive learning environment
Secondary Teaching Assistant Requirements:
- Experience working with secondary-aged students in education or a related setting
- Understanding of different learning needs and appropriate classroom support approaches
- Confidence working across different subjects, classes, and year groups
- Ability to communicate clearly and establish positive relationships with young people
- Flexible, organised, and dependable approach to supporting learning
- Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
