Are you a caring, patient and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant with a passion for supporting children with additional needs?
GSL Education are currently recruiting for a Classroom Support Assistant / SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Chigwell to start immediatley on a long term and full time basis, providing 1:1 support to children with SEN.

About the Role
As a 1:1 SEN Support Assistant, you will work closely with class teachers and the SENCO to provide tailored support to pupils with additional needs.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Providing dedicated 1:1 support to children with SEN/SEND
- Supporting pupils to access classroom learning and activities
- Helping children develop their confidence, independence and social skills
- Providing additional learning and classroom support
- Supporting children with communication and interaction
- Encouraging positive behaviour and engagement
- Helping pupils manage transitions and classroom routines
- Supporting reading, writing, phonics and numeracy activities
- Adapting your approach to suit individual children's needs
- Building positive and trusting relationships with pupils
- Working alongside the Class Teacher, SENCO and wider school team
- Creating a calm, inclusive and supportive classroom environment
SEN Experience
Previous experience supporting children with SEN/SEND is highly desirable.
Experience with any of the following would be beneficial:
- Autism / ASD
- ADHD
- SEMH
- Challenging behaviour
- Communication difficulties
- Learning difficulties
- Social and emotional needs
- Complex or additional needs
Experience providing 1:1 support within a primary school, nursery, specialist setting, childcare environment or similar setting would also be advantageous.
