Job Title: English Teacher

Salary: Up to £220 per day (depending on experience and qualifications)

Contract Type: Long-term / Temporary, Full-time / Part-time

Are you an enthusiastic English Teacher looking for an opportunity to inspire students and make a real difference in their learning? A welcoming secondary school in Sheffield is seeking a committed English Teacher to join its teaching team.

About the Role:

As an English Teacher, you will plan and deliver well-structured lessons across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, helping students strengthen their reading, writing and communication skills. You will use your subject knowledge to challenge and support learners, assess progress and create a classroom environment where students can develop confidence in English.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging English lessons across KS3 and KS4.

  • Assess and monitor pupil progress, adapting teaching where appropriate.

  • Differentiate lessons to meet a range of learning needs.

  • Develop students' reading, writing, analytical and communication skills.

  • Maintain high expectations for behaviour and classroom engagement.

  • Provide constructive feedback to support pupil development.

  • Work collaboratively with colleagues and contribute to the wider school community where appropriate.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.

  • Experience teaching English within a secondary school setting.

  • Strong subject knowledge and classroom management skills.

  • Ability to plan effective lessons and assess pupil progress.

  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.

  • A genuine passion for English and helping students achieve their potential.

  • Have an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service or be willing to apply for one through GSL Education.
