Job Title: Level 3 Teaching Assistant (Primary)
Location: Sheffield S5
Salary: £460 – £600 per week (depending on experience and qualifications)
Contract Type: Long-term / Temporary, Full-time / Part-time

Do you have a Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification and a genuine interest in helping primary-aged children thrive in the classroom? A supportive primary school in Sheffield S5 is looking for a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join their team.
About the Role:
As a Level 3 Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with the class teacher to support pupils throughout the school day. Your responsibilities will include assisting with lessons, working with individuals and small groups, and helping children stay engaged with their learning. You may support pupils across EYFS, KS1 or KS2, depending on the needs of the school.

Responsibilities:

Support the class teacher with daily lessons and classroom activities.

Provide one-to-one and small-group support to help pupils make progress.

Assist children across EYFS, KS1 or KS2 with age-appropriate learning.

Help pupils develop confidence, independence and positive classroom behaviours.

Support children with additional learning or SEN needs where required.

Prepare and organise classroom resources and learning materials.

Monitor pupils' engagement and provide relevant feedback to the class teacher.
Requirements:

Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent is desirable.

Previous experience working within a primary school setting.

Good understanding of supporting children across EYFS, KS1 or KS2.

Strong communication and teamwork skills.

A patient, caring and consistent approach.

Ability to support positive behaviour and maintain a calm classroom environment.
-
SEN experience or relevant additional needs experience is advantageous.
To work with GSL Education as a Level 3 Teaching Assistant (Primary), you should:

Have the right to work in the UK.

Have an up-to-date CV with two relevant references from within the last two years.

Have an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service or be willing to apply for one through GSL Education.
Please be advised that this role requires a strong knowledge and understanding of safeguarding and child protection and that successful applicants must satisfy all background safer recruitment checks including providing an enhanced DBS certificate registered on the update service, or completing an application for a new check.
