GSL Education are currently recruiting for Nursery Assistants, Nursery Nurses and Early Years Practitioners to join our flexible supply team, working across a range of nurseries and Early Years settings throughout Chelmsford and the surrounding areas.
This is a fantastic opportunity if you're looking for flexible childcare work, want to choose the days you work, or would like to gain experience across different nursery settings.
We are looking for people who can commit to a minimum of 3 days per week, with availability between 8am and 6pm.
What does the role involve?
As a Nursery Assistant / Nursery Nurse, you could be working across baby, toddler and preschool rooms, supporting children with their care, learning and development.
Your responsibilities may include:
- Supporting children's learning and development through play
- Helping deliver fun, engaging and age-appropriate activities
- Creating a safe, warm and nurturing environment
- Supporting children's personal, social and emotional development
- Encouraging communication, confidence and independence
- Supporting indoor and outdoor play
- Helping with daily routines, meals and activities
- Building positive relationships with children and staff
- Supporting children with their individual needs
- Following EYFS, safeguarding and health & safety procedures
- Working as part of a friendly and supportive nursery team
- Adapting quickly to different nursery settings and age groups
Who are we looking for?

- Nursery Assistants

- Early Years Educators
- Level 2 or Level 3 qualified childcare practitioners
- Experienced childcare professionals
- Teaching Assistants with Early Years experience
- Candidates with professional experience working with children aged 0–5
A Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in Childcare / Early Years is desirable, but not essential.
If you don't hold a formal childcare qualification but have professional experience working with children in a nursery, preschool, childcare setting or similar environment, we would still love to hear from you.
The ideal candidate will be:

- Reliable and punctual
- Enthusiastic about working with young children
- Confident working with children aged 0–5
- Flexible and adaptable
- Comfortable working in different nursery environments
- A strong communicator and team player
- Passionate about children's learning and development
- Committed to safeguarding and children's wellbeing
