Geography Teacher

Start Date: October Half Term 
Pay: M1 – UPS3, depending on experience
Contract: Full-time
Location: Hull

GSL Education are currently seeking a Geography Teacher to join a supportive and welcoming alterative provision in Hull from October half term.

This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate Geography teacher to join a school that is committed to providing a positive and inclusive learning environment for its pupils. The successful teacher will be joining a dedicated team who work closely together to support pupils both academically and personally.

The School:

The school provides a structured and nurturing environment for pupils who may require additional support with their social, emotional and mental health needs. The school focuses on building positive relationships, developing confidence and removing barriers to learning.

The successful candidate will need to be confident working with pupils with SEMH needs and have a calm, patient and consistent approach to behaviour management. Experience within an SEMH, PRU or specialist setting would be highly desirable.

The Role as a Geography Teacher:

As a Geography Teacher, you will be responsible for planning and delivering engaging lessons across the secondary Geography curriculum. You will be expected to adapt your teaching to meet the individual needs of pupils and create a classroom environment where students feel supported and able to achieve.

The successful Geography Teacher will:

  • Have experience teaching Geography at secondary level.

  • Hold QTS or an equivalent teaching qualification.

  • Have previous experience working with pupils with SEMH / SEND needs.

  • Be confident managing challenging behaviour using positive and consistent strategies.

  • Build strong, professional relationships with pupils.

  • Plan and deliver engaging and differentiated Geography lessons.

  • Have high expectations of pupil progress and behaviour.

  • Work effectively as part of a wider school team.

  • Be patient, resilient and committed to supporting young people.
