£92 – £115 per day

GSL Education are currently seeking a Learning Support Assistant to join a welcoming secondary school near Bridlington, on a full-time basis, starting ASAP.

The successful candidate will become part of a dedicated team of teaching and support staff, working collaboratively to ensure pupils receive the support they need to succeed.

The Role

As a Learning Support Assistant, you will work alongside teachers to support pupils within mainstream lessons, helping them access the curriculum, remain engaged and make progress.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing learning support to pupils across a range of mainstream lessons.
  • Working with pupils on a 1:1 and small-group basis where required.
  • Supporting pupils to access classroom activities and the wider curriculum.
  • Helping pupils remain focused, engaged and confident in their learning.
  • Working closely with teachers to provide consistent and effective support.
  • Building positive relationships with pupils and encouraging their independence.
  • Supporting positive behaviour and maintaining a calm, inclusive classroom environment.

About You

The successful candidate will ideally:

  • Have experience working with children or young people in an educational or similar setting.
  • Be passionate about supporting pupils and helping them reach their potential.
  • Have a patient, understanding and approachable nature.
  • Be confident working alongside teachers within a busy classroom environment.
  • Have strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Be reliable, adaptable and able to respond positively to different pupil needs.
  • Have a genuine interest in developing a career within education.

Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant, Youth Worker, Behaviour Support Worker or similar would be advantageous, but is not essential.
