Location: Dover, Kent
Salary Scale: £93.3 - £95 per day (depending on experience)
Start Date: September 2026

About the role:
GSL Education Kent are currently recruiting a SEN Teaching Assistant to work in an innovative and highly achieving Academy Trust in Dover. We are seeking a dynamic, enthusiastic, and passionate SEN Teaching Assistant who will inspire the next generation of young people and support pupils to reach their full learning potential.

The partner school is an inclusive primary academy located in Dover, rated 'Good' by Ofsted. The leadership team is committed to providing a safe, nurturing, and empowering environment where every pupil is supported to thrive. The school boasts excellent modern facilities and dedicated support teams for children with Special Educational Needs. It is conveniently situated with excellent public transport links across Dover and nearby East Kent areas.
SEN Teaching Assistant role:
The successful SEN Teaching Assistant will be working as part of an energetic and creative team, focusing on delivering tailored support to young people with diverse learning needs, including ASD and ADHD. We are looking to recruit a SEN Teaching Assistant who is confident in working with children who may face barriers to learning, helping them engage fully in daily classroom activities.
The successful SEN Teaching Assistant will:

Hold a relevant Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent experience).

Have proven experience supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN) in an educational or care setting.

Possess strong behaviour management skills and a calm, patient approach.

Demonstrate excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with teachers, parents, and SENCOs.

Be proactive, adaptable, and dedicated to raising attainment levels for vulnerable pupils.
Please be advised that this role requires a strong knowledge and understanding of safeguarding and child protection, and that successful applicants must satisfy all background safer recruitment checks including providing an enhanced DBS on the update service, or completing an application for a new check.
We also offer, via our partner, access to accredited Education-relevant CPD courses.
In addition to that, GSL Education is currently offering £100 for the successful referral of either Teachers or Teaching Assistants (Ts & Cs apply).
