Job title: Design and Technology Teacher

Salary: Up to £220 per day (depending on experience)

Contract Type: Long-Term/ Day-to-day, Full-Time / Part-Time

GSL Education South Yorkshire Branch are seeking a creative and knowledgeable Design and Technology (D&T) Teacher to work with a school in Doncaster. This role provides an opportunity to deliver practical learning, develop pupils' technical abilities and encourage independent problem-solving through well-planned D&T lessons.

Your responsibilities as a Design and Technology Teacher:

  • Plan and deliver engaging and practical D&T lessons.
  • Teach design principles and relevant technical skills.
  • Encourage creativity, problem-solving and independent thinking.
  • Prepare appropriate materials, equipment and learning resources.
  • Ensure practical activities are completed safely.
  • Assess students' work and provide constructive feedback.
  • Support pupils in developing confidence through practical projects.

Requirements for the Design and Technology Teacher role:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent qualification is essential for a D&T Teacher.
  • Strong subject knowledge in Design and Technology.
  • Previous experience teaching D&T in a school setting is desirable.
  • Confident classroom, behaviour and practical-work management skills.
  • Ability to engage students through creative and practical approaches.
  • Strong planning, communication and organisational abilities.
  • Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) certificate on the Update Service, or willingness to apply.
  • Good understanding of safeguarding and child protection.
