Salary: £460–£650 per week (depending on experience)

Could you confidently lead a classroom and keep students focused when their regular teacher is unavailable?
GSL Education South Yorkshire Branch are currently looking for a reliable Cover Supervisor (CS) to work with a school in Doncaster.
The role as a Cover Supervisor is ideal for someone who can manage classroom routines, follow prepared lesson plans and create a calm environment where students remain focused on their learning.
Your responsibilities:
- Supervise classes across different subjects and year groups.
- Deliver prepared lesson instructions and ensure students understand their tasks.
- Maintain positive classroom routines and behaviour expectations.
- Monitor student engagement and respond appropriately to disruption.
- Encourage pupils to complete work independently.
- Provide basic clarification and support during lessons.
- Report relevant behaviour, attendance or lesson concerns to teaching staff.
Requirements for the Cover Supervisor (CS) role:
- Previous experience working with children or young people as a Cover Supervisor or similar role is encouraged.
- Experience in education, tutoring, youth work or a similar environment would be beneficial.
- Confident approach to classroom and behaviour management.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to remain calm and professional when dealing with challenging situations.
- Reliable, organised and adaptable.
- Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) certificate on the Update Service, or willingness to apply.
- Good understanding of safeguarding and child protection.
